Cafe de France is one of our favorite restaurants.  It is located on Park Avenue in Winter Park, Florida and serves delicious and creative French food.   Over the course of our many visits there, we have tried various dishes including the pate of the day, fresh fish, and beef dishes.  We generally recommend to try one of the specials.   They usually have a fish and meat special as well as an appetizer and salad.   We have never been disappointed by the food at Cafe de France.  Our only complaint is that they used to serve a side of mashed sweet potatoes which was delicious.   When a new chef came in, the sweet potatoes were taken off the menu which was a very sad day for Katie.  The restaurant also has authentic French desserts which are decent.  However, we often skip their dessert menu and go down the street to Peterbook Chocolatier where they serve amazing coconut chocolate ice cream and sometimes have chocolate popcorn samples...YUM!   Back to the original review, Cafe de France's web site is: https://www.lecafedefrance.com/

Dandelion Communitea is a very unique teahouse/cafe that serves delicious organic vegetarian food.   I know that description might turn a lot of people off but I recommend trying it once before you even begin to turn up your nose.   The "Bean There Done That" wrap (our favorite) is a medley of beans and veggies in a whole wheat tortilla that can satisfy the hungriest carnivore in the world (aka Sean).   Most of their food is gluten-free and they also have DELICIOUS vegan baked goods (again, don't knock it until you've tried it!).   The teahouse is socially concious and devoted to a sustainable supply chain which benefits the planet.   They also host art shows, poetry readings and even drum circles.  Dandelion's is located in an old house painted bright green near Colonial and Bumby Avenue in Orlando.   Their web site is: https://www.dandelioncommunitea.com/
